Erik Curtis, MD, is a distinguished Board Certified neurological surgeon providing comprehensive services to patients at Atlas Neurosurgery and Spine Center in Phoenix, AZ.. Dr. Curtis underwent extensive training in Neurosurgery and offers treatment and management of all medical conditions that affect the central and peripheral nervous system. 

Dr. Curtis obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania in the Biological Basis of Behavior. This was followed by a graduate degree in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University. He then went on to complete Medical School at USC, where he graduated near the top of his class. 

After medical school he went on to complete his Neurosurgical training at the University of California, San Diego. During training, he had a concentration in spinal surgery, minimally invasive spinal surgery, spinal fusion and stem cell transplantation for spinal cord injury. This was added to an already rigorous training background in cranial surgery, brain tumor surgery and intracranial pathology. Above all Dr. Curtis believes in an honest and forthcoming relationship with his patients. He seeks to earn their trust and he believes the physician should act as the patient's advocate, protector and healer. 

Dr. Curtis has authored several articles and chapters in the field of neurological surgery, and his work has been featured in many prestigious medical journals and textbooks. 

Dr. Curtis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

When not with his patients Dr. Curtis enjoys exercising, being outdoors, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
